Indiavaale Launches a Platform for Functional Art

NewsVoir | 26 Oct, 2016
Indiavaale a social e-commerce startup has entered the market to make Indian Handicraft contemporary. Indian handicrafts are sought after across the world for their richness, diversity and cultural connect. The arts and craft industry is a whopping $4-5 billion dollar export industry; the contribution of Indian handicrafts is a negligible 2% to the global handicrafts market.

Bringing the art and craft alive from the Indian heartland, the founder of Indiavaale, Tanvi Sangal, said, “India is a country painted on artist’s canvas. Indiavaale aims at promoting products created by artisans that reflect this beauty. In the past six months, we have been able to curate 340 products by collaborating with just 12 artisans across 3-4 states. There is a whole world out there for us to explore and bring to the modern buyer.”

A contemporary approach towards traditional Pattachitra art

Social e-commerce startup Indiavaale endeavors to help solve some of the challenges faced by artisans. The company sells home & lifestyle products online with an innovative approach to Indian handicrafts. Taking a leaf from Honorable PM Narendra Modi’s Make in India & Skill India campaigns, they aim at up-skilling handicraft artisans and ensuring the preservation of our age old arts.

The company launched its website www.indiavaale.com recently and has received an encouraging response. The social ecommerce portal is focused on investing in the skill development of artisans from states as Odisha, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh & West Bengal to create a line of contemporary Indian handicrafts desired both globally & locally.
