Informex INDIA to See 2000 Visitors from Across the World

MUMBAI: The second edition of Informex INDIA, the country's premier event in the chemical manufacturing space, saw participation by leading suppliers across a broad spectrum of India's thriving specialty chemicals sectors. The three-day conference and exhibition was inaugurated on Wednesday, 12 September 2012 at Nehru Centre, Mumbai.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Jose Cyriac, Secretary, Ministry of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Government of India.

Apart from the exhibition that features specialty chemicals made by leading players such as Supriya Lifesciences, Neogen Chemicals, Calyx Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals, and TCI Chemicals, the event will also host a series of knowledge sharing sessions in association with experts from different fields in the Indian specialty chemicals industry.

Speaking at the event, Jose Cyriac, Secretary, Ministry of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Government of India said, "The Indian specialty chemicals industry is currently valued at US$ 17.7 billion and is an important catalyst to the growth of the Indian chemicals industry. Automotive, paints, adhesives are some of the key drivers to this industry that is expected to grow at the rate of 13-14%. Research and development is integral in developing the specialty chemicals sector and India with its talented pool of scientists and R&D experts will serve as the perfect destination for this."
