Union Minister Kalraj Mishra has inaugurated a four-day the India Machine Tools Show in New Delhi, which aims at promoting innovation and manufacturing in the sector.

K and D Communication Limited has organized its 6 th India Machine Tools Show 2015 (IMTOS) at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from 4th to 7th July, 2015.

Speaking at the inauguration, Mishra said it is important to encourage entrepreneurship and promote start-ups for innovation in machinery and manufacturing industry in the country.

"Instead of importing products and tools from foreign land, we as a developing country, should strive for manufacturing better machinery here. This drive towards indigenous manufacturing will help Indian industries to learn advanced manufacturing techniques and better production.

"Special efforts should be made to recognize, support and develop the role of Indian MSMEs and enable them to compete internationally," the Minister said.

Mishra said the exhibition will also provide a major interface between Indian manufacturers of machine tools and international companies to boost trade and exports implied with Make in India drive and reduce dependence on imports.

The show will witness over 150 exhibitors showcasing innovations in machine tools undertaken by them.

The exhibition has drawn participation from over 1,000 companies from India.

Kamlesh Gohil, Managing Director at K and D Communication Limited, is confident that IMTOS is all set to repeat the success story at the four day event which will showcase the latest trends and technologies available in the world machine tool market.

Manufacturers, Suppliers of machine tools, machinery and services would come together and make it an exposition where besides business, transfer of know how will also take place.

Gohil also informed that approximately 80 percent of the Indian machine tool producers have received the coveted ISO Certification. While the large organized players cater to India's heavy and medium industries, the small scale sector meets the demand of ancillary and other units.

IMTOS 2015 will cover entire India including the states of Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and Jammu & Kashmir.
