In an exclusive interview with SME Times, the Founder of K P Rubber and Polymer shares insights on building a high-performance silicone products manufacturing company driven by precision engineering, global compliance, and Indian industrial excellence. He discusses the company's journey, key sectors served, and future growth plans. Below are excerpts from the interview.

Q1. Could you briefly introduce yourself?

I am Hitesh Mahnot, the founder of KP Rubber and Polymer, a company focused on manufacturing high-performance silicone components for critical industrial applications. My background lies in technical manufacturing and material science, and I have always been passionate about building solutions that combine engineering precision with global quality standards.

At KP Rubber and Polymer, my vision has been to build a manufacturing ecosystem that reflects the strength of Indian industrial capability. We focus on producing reliable silicone products that meet strict performance and compliance requirements across industries. As an entrepreneur, I believe that innovation, technical expertise, and uncompromising quality are the pillars that can help Indian manufacturing compete confidently on a global stage.

Q2. What is your long-term vision for the company?

Our vision is to position KP Rubber and Polymer as a globally trusted manufacturer of high-performance silicone solutions. We aim to empower critical infrastructure sectors—from railways and pharmaceuticals to renewable energy—by delivering products that meet the highest levels of safety, durability, and regulatory compliance.

Beyond business growth, our goal is to contribute to strengthening India’s manufacturing ecosystem by demonstrating that Indian MSMEs can deliver world-class engineering solutions. Through continuous research, sustainable manufacturing practices, and investment in advanced technologies, we aspire to make our company a benchmark for innovation and reliability in the global silicone manufacturing industry.

Q3. Which key industries do you currently serve, and how do your solutions create impact for them?

Currently, KP Rubber and Polymer serves several high-demand industries including food processing, pharmaceuticals, railways, and renewable energy. Each of these sectors requires components that can perform reliably under strict environmental, safety, and regulatory conditions. For example, in the food and pharmaceutical sectors, our silicone components ensure hygiene, chemical stability, and compliance with stringent safety standards. In the railway sector, our gaskets and sealing solutions play a crucial role in protecting electrical and mechanical systems from dust, moisture, and extreme weather conditions. Similarly, in renewable energy infrastructure, our products help maintain the durability and efficiency of equipment operating in challenging environments. By delivering precision-engineered silicone solutions, we help our clients improve operational safety, reliability, and long-term performance.

Q4. What would you like prospective clients or partners to know about your company?

At KP Rubber and Polymer, we don’t just manufacture components—we engineer reliable industrial solutions. Our strength lies in deep material expertise, advanced manufacturing processes, and strict adherence to international compliance standards. Prospective clients and partners should know that we prioritize quality, consistency, and long-term reliability in everything we produce. Our approach combines precision engineering with a strong commitment to Indian manufacturing excellence. Whether it is for infrastructure, healthcare, or industrial applications, our aim is to deliver products that clients can depend on for their most critical operations.

Q5. How is digital transformation changing the way MSMEs operate today?

Digital transformation is streamlining MSMEs through cloud-based automation, real-time inventory tracking, and digital payments. By adopting AI-driven analytics and e-commerce platforms, small businesses are expanding their market reach, enhancing customer engagement, and competing globally. It shifts focus from manual processes to data-driven efficiency and scalable growth. Overall, digital transformation shifts MSMEs from traditional manual processes to data-driven, agile, and scalable business models, enabling them to compete effectively in both domestic and international markets.

Q6. What are your expansion plans for the near future?

Our expansion strategy focuses on entering high-growth sectors such as electric vehicles (EVs) and medical-grade manufacturing, where high-performance silicone components play an increasingly important role. At the same time, we are investing in advanced technologies like Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) automation, which will allow us to enhance production precision, consistency, and efficiency. Another key priority is obtaining additional international certifications, enabling us to strengthen our position as an export-ready manufacturer. Through these initiatives, we aim to transform KP Rubber and Polymer from a strong domestic supplier into a globally competitive manufacturing powerhouse.

Q7. What has been your proudest moment since starting this venture?

One of the proudest moments in our journey has been successfully developing silicone products that meet highly demanding industry standards such as UL 50E and EN 45545 HL3, which are widely recognized benchmarks for safety and performance. Seeing our engineered gaskets being used in critical Indian railway infrastructure was particularly rewarding. It validated our belief that with the right technical expertise and commitment to quality, an Indian MSME can produce components that meet the most rigorous global requirements.

Q8. What has been the most challenging phase in your entrepreneurial journey?

The most challenging phase was undoubtedly the early stage of our journey. As a startup entering a competitive manufacturing space, we had to compete with well-established industry players who already had strong market presence and brand recognition. During that period, our biggest challenge was building credibility and proving that KP Rubber and Polymer could meet—and even exceed—global quality standards. It required continuous investment in research, process improvement, and customer trust. However, overcoming those initial hurdles ultimately strengthened our foundation and helped us build a resilient and quality-driven organization.

Q9. What advice would you give someone starting out?

My advice to aspiring entrepreneurs is to prioritize technical integrity and long-term credibility over quick gains. In manufacturing, reputation is built over time through consistent quality and strict adherence to compliance standards. It is also important to stay resilient during the early stages, when resources may be limited and challenges frequent. Focus on mastering your domain—whether it is material science, engineering, or product innovation—and ensure that every product leaving your facility reflects your commitment to excellence. In the long run, precision, reliability, and trust will always speak louder than short-term success.

Q10. Which of your leadership traits are key to your success?

My leadership philosophy is built on three core principles: technical integrity, resilience, and a quality-first mindset. I believe that a leader in manufacturing must deeply understand the technical aspects of the business while also inspiring a culture of discipline and continuous improvement.

Throughout our journey, these values have helped us stand firm against larger industry players and maintain our focus on precision engineering and global compliance. Ultimately, leadership is about creating an environment where innovation, accountability, and excellence become the natural standards for the entire organization.
