Time has come to move from the narrative from 'Women empowerment' to 'Women In-Powerment', said Bhaskar Das, Group President, Republic Media Network.

Speaking at a seminar on 'Taking Wings: Women's Employment, Entrepreneurship and Empowerment' , Das said, "Women empowerment usually means giving authority and power to do something, indicating that someone's permission is needed to empower a woman. In today's context, it is important that we change the narrative and move from "empowerment" to in-powerment, which essentially, is the process of allowing women to discover the power that already lies within them, rather than giving them external permissions or authorities".

He added, "An in-powered women would be self-aware, allowed to make choices, possess the ability to be self-dependent and in-power others. Therefore, our role is not to actively give women the power, but to provide them with the facilities that help them discover the power that lie within themselves".

Rajat Banerji, National Head - Corporate Affairs, Amway India said, "Women play an intrinsic role in strengthening the socio-economic landscape, and entrepreneurship is a route that has witnessed tremendous adoption among India's women."

Monica Chaturvedi, Chairperson, FICCI FLO Mumbai Chapter shared FICCI FLO's engagement in social & economic empowerment of women across all sections & verticals of society.
