FICCI CASCADE on Wednesday organized an inter-school competition to promote awareness amongst the youth of the need to combat the menace of counterfeiting and smuggling. Students from over 20 leading schools in Delhi NCR participated in the competition in two categories, namely painting and elocution.

FICCI CASCADE believes that it is important to bring the youth on-board the awareness campaign and through them influence the society as a whole. It is a fact that the modern day youngsters are prolific users of networking and communication tools and an idea planted in their minds can become an instrument of change.

The objective of such competitions is to increase awareness among young children to fight the menace of fake and spurious goods. This in turn is also expected to inspire them to be socially responsible citizens.

India's economic growth story has attracted the world's attention bringing new challenges for the domestic economy. One of the major issues for the economy and industry is the uninhibited growth of illicit trade in terms of counterfeiting and smuggling. The market for illegal goods is thriving in India and has become one of the biggest challenges faced by Indian industry.

FICCI's CASCADE, is a dedicated forum on the agenda of fighting the menace of smuggling and counterfeiting.

Over the years, FICCI CASCADE is working on creating awareness on tackling this problem which is a serious menace to public health and safety. Along with policy makers, industry, enforcement officials and media, CASCADE has been working closely with the country's youth in its fight to address the issue through various interschool and intercollege competitions and programmes.
