Industry body Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) will organize the Annual Conference cum Awards on the occasion of the World Entrepreneurs' Day on Tuesday, 21st August 2018 at Hotel Leela Palace, New Delhi.

The purpose of the World Entrepreneurs' Day is to create awareness for entrepreneurship, innovation and leadership throughout the world.

The Global Entrepreneurship Index (GEI) a composite indicator of the health of Entrepreneurship ecosystem, has placed India at 68 position out of a total list of 137 countries, this is by far the best ranking of India having jump from 73 rank in 2012.

The GEI measures both the quality of entrepreneurship and the extent and depth of the supporting Entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The Entrepreneurial potential in India as measured by highlighting the self perception about Entrepreneurship is on rise as per the Latest Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) report in India for the Financial Year 2016-17.

According to the report, a comparison of India with its pears in BRICS Economies suggests, that the perceived opportunity here is the highest among all.

The ASSOCHAM Conference will discuss the various programs, schemes and incentives announced and setup by the concerned Ministries at the Centre and the State for developing Startups and Entrepreneurship in the country.

The "Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India", Gujarat is the "Knowledge Partner" and is preparing the Background Paper to be released on the occasion.
