Kumar Gangwar has inaugurated the 29th India Carpet Expo on Friday at Pragati
Maidan in New Delhi.
Carpet Export Promotion Council (CEPC) is organizing the 29th Edition of India
Carpet Expo, March 27 to 30 in Hall Nos 8 to 11, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi,
under the aegis of Government of India.
The Expo is one of the largest Handmade Carpet Fairs in Asia, which provides a
unique platform under one roof, for buyers to source the best handmade carpets,
rugs and floor coverings. It has become a popular destination worldwide for
handmade carpets.
This Fair has become a popular destination worldwide on Handmade Carpets and other Floor Coverings, envisaging
unique business oriented platform amongst the Handmade Carpet buyers,
Importers, Indian Carpet Manufacturers and exporters, as well.
This time, Carpet Council is having record number of more than 250 reputed
manufacturer exporters from all over India viz U.P., Rajasthan, Haryana, Jammu
& Kashmir, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh,
etc.
It is expected that around 450 Overseas Carpet Buyers, from 57 countries
including USA, Germany, France, UK., Turkey, Brazil, China Canada, Denmark,
Japan, Korea, European Countries etc shall be visiting this Expo to generate
business with Indian Handmade Carpet Exporters / Manufacturers.
The Carpet Export Promotion Council is giving a subsidy of USD 800 to buyers
from USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Brazil, Chile and all
other LAC (Latin American Countries) and USD 550 to buyers from other countries
towards air travel expenses. The Council is also providing complimentary hotel
stay for the participants.
This will ultimately benefit to over millions of weavers / artisans employed in
this highly labour intensive rural based MSME cottage industry.
