Apex industry body, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship, Guwahati on Friday joined hands together to extend cooperation to each other to develop the skill development and entrepreneurship in Northeast Region by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The MoU was signed between the Secretary General of PHD Chamber, Saurabh Sanyal and the Director Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship, Guwahati, Manoj Kumar Das.  

The Chamber will create its own logistics and operational procedures whereas IIE will work with PHD Chamber in organizing activities on skill development, entrepreneurship and on mutually decided terms.

After signing the MoU, Sanyal said, "It has been Chamber's objective to support the cause of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and its proper implementation at the grass root level. We feel that the role of Center and State governments is equally important to provide necessary environment that facilitate business to grow and contribute towards the economic development of our country and respective states through Skilling our youth".

He also added that the Chamber has undertaken several developmental activities across all the states which it serves and would continue to strive further to reach out to all sections of the society through its initiatives.

Das said, "a major development objective for the North East Region is the strengthening of its human resources, particularly the youth, so as to make them skilled and employable."

"We want to work with PHDCCI for exposure of entrepreneurs of North Eastern Region in the national network of entrepreneurship and business development and to bring in best practices and exchange programmes," he added.
