BJP president Amit Shah, who Sunday welcomed over 100 corporate leaders into the party, said he was confident that Goods and Services Tax (GST) will become a reality by 2016, a party release said.

Shah told the gathering that the Bhartiya Janata Party-led government had taken several steps to restore confidence of investors, said the release.

He elaborated on the steps taken by Narendra Modi government to change business climate and restore business confidence such as 'Make in India' campaign and ordinances on some pending legislations.

He said the perception of the country outside was changing and there was growing feeling that the country will be on a high growth path in next couple of years.

"Amit Shah said that he is confident that GST would be a reality from April 2016," the release said.

He said corporate leaders were not joining the party but "a family."

"Over 100 CEOs became members of the BJP which included Perveiz Alamgir Khan from Luftansa, Henry Moses, country head of Qatar Airlines, Neeta Agarwal of AT&T, Jagpreet Lamba of AIKON Group, Kapil Kumaria of Corporate Alliance group, and Anil Parashar of Interglobe Technologies," the release said.

Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha president Anurag Thakur said that activities of the party will gain pace by joining of corporate leaders.

Meanwhile, the party Sunday listed the steps taken by the central government to improve power supply in the national capital.

Power Minister Piyush Goyal said projects of Rs.7,791 crore "are already underway" for improving various aspects of power supply in Delhi.

He said one crore bulbs in Delhi will be replaced with LED in a year.

Delhi goes to polls Feb 7.
