West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Sunday said 152 micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) clusters have been set-up in the state to generate over four lakh jobs.

Banerjee said on Facebook, "In 2011, our party manifesto had committed to launch a massive cluster development drive across the state to give our MSME sector a new trajectory of growth."

The chief minister said her government has formed 152 clusters, as against its initial target of just 17.

"These clusters in the MSME, handloom and Khadi sectors, are going to generate more than four lakh employment opportunities in the state.

"Over the three years of our government, more than 35,000 new units in MSME sector have been set up in the state with employment of nearly 3 lakh 20 thousand. Our synergy with various departments to help the entrepreneurs is yielding results," she added.
