Minister for Micro Small Medium Enterprises (MSME), K.H. Muniyappa has inaugurated the MSME Expo-2012, Techmart India 2012 and Khadi Pavilion at The India International Trade Fair (IITF) in New Delhi today.

In his address the minister said, "The objective of this exhibition is to recognize the strength of India's Micro and Small-Scale unit by showcasing the technology adopted by them in manufacturing products and also to provide a suitable platform at reasonable cost to develop a platform for future trade and business not only domestically but globally."

The MSME Expo-2012 is facilitating the exhibitors to promote their products by providing them with subsidized stalls. The products range varies from technical products requiring high precision manufacturing to products which manifests India's strength in traditional knowledge of ayurveda & artwork. Special category entrepreneurs have been encouraged through enhanced subsidy.

More than 80 participants from all over India are participating in the MSME Expo-2012 exhibiting their products in more than 88 stalls, informed ministry is a press release.

Encouraged by the success of earlier Techmarts, this year too NSIC has organized Techmart India 2012 showcasing the strengths and capabilities of MSMEs.

Techmart is divided into several segments like machine and machine tools, light engineering, mechanical products, electrical & electronics, institution, leather products, auto components, health care, information technology, rubber products, building materials & general products and gives the MSME units an opportunity to enhance their marketing efforts & technology transfer under one roof.

Techmart India 2012 is spread over an area of 5000 sqm and is a platform for those associated with the MSME sector and interested in keeping abreast with the latest Technological Developments in the micro, small and medium enterprises sector.

The show covers the entire range of engineering, manufacturing and allied industries. It is a perfect vehicle to network/establish new business contacts/renew old contacts to discover new market opportunities and to enhance market access in India & abroad.

While Khadi Pavilion at IITF-12 carrying the theme of "Skilling India". Around 155 stalls of Artisans, craftsmen, Institutions and PMEGP units from all over the country right from the Jammu & Kashmir to Arunachal Pradesh are participating in this trade fair.

KVIC has also arranged live technological demonstration of few traditional skills.

The SMEs from all over India are participating to demonstrate their quality products, skill & traditional art work of India.

Present on the occasion were Vivek Rae, Secretary, MSME, Amarendra Sinha, H.P. Kumar, CMD, NSIC, Joint Secretary and Development Commissioner (MSME).

The office of DC (MSME) is also participating in the Theme Pavilion "Skilling India" which is showcased at Hall No. 1 to display the strength of MSME Tool Rooms and Technology Development Centres in skilling and imparting training to the youth of the country.
