In an endeavour to celebrate and promote the textile heritage of India, Cottage Emporium is organizing a 'Handloom Month' from December 19 to January 27, in Delhi and its five branches in different states, titled "Timeless Threads".

"This exhibition-cum-sale of textiles comprising of a series of seven-day exhibitions dedicated to the authentic textiles from specific states namely Kashmir, Varanasi, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Gujarat," M.D. Central Cottage Industries Corporation of India Ltd. (CCIC), Alka Arora told SME Times on the sidelines of the inauguration of the expo in New Delhi on Wednesday.

Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Minister of New & Renewable Energy, Wednesday inaugurated the Exhibition-cum-Sale of haritage rich textiles.

The Kashmir exhibition will be on till 27 December 2012 followed by "Timeless Threads" from Varanasi (29 December-06 January 2013) Timeless Threads from Uttar Pradesh &West Bengal (09-16 January 2013) Timeless Threads from Rajasthan & Gujarat (19-27 January 2013) as part of the handloom month being celebrated in CCIC.

The above exhibition will showcase exquisite textiles items like sarees, ready to wear, silk accessories, home linen & home furnishing of specified states.

The showroom timings are from 10.00 a.m. to 7.00 pm. on all days including Sundays.

The Cottage Emporium is the leading source for Indian handicrafts created by skilled artists & masters of crafts.

Arora said, "The Kashmir delights will showcase some exquisite Sozni - hand embroidered sarees, Kani, Pashmina, Jamawar shawls, ready to wear and Crewel home furnishings."

Varanasi will present Banarasi sarees, in brocade, resham and karwa work, printed silk accessories, ready to wear and home furnishings to give a luster to all occasions and celebrations.

West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh will make its presence felt with sarees, ready to wear, accessories, shawls, furnishings in Kantha, Chikankari and Bhagalpur silk with subtle colours and intricate embroidery.

Rajasthan & Gujarat will brighten up your mood with striking Patola, tie & dye sarees, block printed sarees, finely embroidered shawls and accessories in applique and patch work.

Also a Tea festival has been organized at Cottage showroom premises till 31st December 2012, where one get to relish the taste of myriad flavours of Indian tea and the same can also be bought from the counter.

"Its is an efforts of promoting unique creations of craftspersons," said Arora.

Dear respected sir knowledge of handloom month should come in every district near every small company,which not given by district level source .
