As Union Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh is critically ill, his portfolio has been given to Vayalar Ravi, Overseas Indian Affairs Minister, reports media on Wednesday.

Overseas Indian Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi, meanwhile, was given additional charge of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises(MSME) Ministry, which was held by Deshmukh in addition to his Science and Technology portfolio.

Highly placed sources said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has asked Ravi to take care of the Ministry in Parliament.

The decision to give additional charge of the Ministry to the veteran Congress leader from Kerala came after the condition of Deshmukh, who was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai for a liver-related ailment, was in a critical condition and under observation, hospital authorities said last night.

The authorities at Global hospital did not release any health bulletin nor there was any official word on the condition of the 67-year-old Congress leader, who was brought here in an air ambulance from Mumbai last evening,

Hospital sources said the bulletin was not issued in deference to the wishes of Deshmukh's family.

Hospital sources have described as "critical" the condition of Deshmukh, who is being treated by noted liver transplant surgeon Dr Mohamed Rela.

It is almost fun for the Indian PM to announce ministry for Kerala bajanai troups: since the PA of Sonia Gandhi became a Keralite, the entire Delhi Dharbar now "Blessed" with Kerala priests:Just tell me,whether Vayalar Raavi has any exposure to any industry? But,sure, doing second fiddling for Sonia is the main Agenda for these comedy kings.
