PHD Chamber Opens Golf Tourism Conclave and Golf Tournament

PHD Chamber organised a unique first of its kind PHD Golf Tourism Conclave and Golf Tournament 2017 on February 24-25, 2017 in Pune with a focus on making India a Favoured Golfing Destination in the world.



The Conclave held on February 24, 2017 and brought on one platform all the relevant stakeholders – the Government (Central and States) and the private sector to discuss regarding issues and opportunities affecting investment in the golf tourism sector in India as well as to improve the existing infrastructure and to further boost Golf Tourism in India.

 

The Hon’ble Chief Guest, Mr. Farooq Shah, IAS, Secretary, Department of Tourism, Government of Jammu & Kashmir shared that Jammu and Kashmir already known for its natural beauty also has state of the art four Golf Courses which are a challenge even for the most avid golfers. He has also very graciously invited the Chamber to host another Golf Tournament in Jammu & Kashmir in the month of April to enjoy Golf and the beauty of the State.

 

The subject was passionately discussed by the keen golfers, elite industrialists and captains from the Travel & Tourism Industry present, who were further motivated to contribute to the cause.

 

The occasion was also graced by H.E. Mr. Chung-Kwang  Tien Taipei Economic & Cultural Center (TECC ; H.E. Mr. Dato Paduka Sidek Ali, High Commission of Brunei Darussalam and H.E. Mr. Archil Dzuliashvili, Ambassador, Embassy of Georgia who shared the beauty of their countries and golfing opportunities.

 

Sports like Golf have amazing potential in boost tourism for our country. Also required are efforts in providing new innovative strategies to assist golf tourism business and enhancing the marketing and positioning of the Golf tourism sector.

 

Mr. Gopal Jiwarajka, President, PHD Chamber also requested all the various stakeholders to adopt an integrated approach towards improving and boosting the golf tourism sector in our country which shall further aid in its development and growth in India.PHD Chamber will ensure all the concerned stakeholders to regularly interact and interface enabling India as one of the favoured golf destinations.
