Ola, Indiaâs leading mobile app for transportation, today announced that Ola Shuttle will offer âFree Ridesâ to commuters in Delhi-NCR on two Fridays 22nd April and 29th April, during the second phase of Odd Even initiative. Customers need to use the coupon code, ODDEVEN to get 100% cash-back on their Ola Shuttle rides on 22nd April and 29th April. Ola Shuttle is the largest of its kind service in Delhi NCR covering over 120 routes ferrying more than 20,000 passengers on a daily basis. Earlier in the week, Ola also announced its decision to pull out Peak Pricing on its cabs in Delhi-NCR temporarily, as an extension of support for the Government's Odd-Even experiment.
Sundeep Sahni, Vice President - New Initiatives at Ola said, âOla Shuttle as a daily commute solution resonates the spirit of the Odd-Even experiment, by providing citizens with a comfortable and convenient shared ride which they can book, live track and pay for, using the Ola app. Launched ahead of the first Odd-Even experiment, Ola Shuttle has been well received by users across Delhi NCRâ. Sundeep further added, âWhile tens of thousands of people are using Ola Shuttle on a daily basis, we would like to extend this service free of cost on select days for citizens, in our support of the vehicle rationing scheme and contribute to the shared vision of a greener and cleaner Delhi.â
Powered by Olaâs technology, Ola Shuttle is equipped with facilities like 4G Wi-Fi, on-demand entertainment, real-time GPS tracking, reserved push-back seating and cashless payments through Ola Money. Ola Shuttle service is already running on 120 routes across Delhi NCR and ferries over 20,000 consumers daily. With more than 500 shuttles on the Ola platform in the region, users can get an Ola Shuttle at intervals of about 5 minutes on working days.
In support of the Odd-Even initiative of the Delhi Govt, Ola has also rolled out an on ground campaign to encourage citizens across Delhi to adopt ride-sharing. Ola volunteers are stationed at key traffic junctions, around metro stations and other high footfall areas across the city to engage and guide users towards the most suitable ride-sharing option.
Founded in Jan 2011 by IIT Bombay alumni Bhavish Aggarwal and Ankit Bhati, Ola (formerly Olacabs), is Indiaâs most popular mobile app for personal transportation. Ola integrates city transportation for customers and driver partners onto a mobile technology platform ensuring convenient, transparent and quick service fulfilment. Ola is committed to its mission of building mobility for a billion people. Using the Ola mobile app, users across 102 cities can book from over 350,000 cabs and 80,000 auto-rickshaws and taxis. Ola has also introduced a range of shared mobility services on its platform like Ola Shuttle and Ola Share for commute and ride-sharing respectively. The app is available on Windows, Android and iOS platforms. In early 2015, Ola acquired TaxiForSure, Indiaâs second largest cab aggregator, which continues to operate as an independent brand.
