Delhi Jewellery and Gem Fair 2015 concluded successfully

NEW DELHI: The 4th edition of the Delhi Jewellery and Gem Fair 2015, hosted by UBM India, concluded successfully at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The show was inaugurated by Chief Guest Shri. Krishan Pal Gurjar - Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment along with Mr Vipul Goel, MLA; Yogesh Singhal, General Secretary, Delhi Bullion & Jewellers Association; Mr. Ram Niwas Goel, MLA; Mr. Prem Sharma, President, Delhi Bullion & Jewellery Welfare Association; and Mr Ramavtar Verma, President, Delhi Bullion & Jewellers Association.
The show is recognized as an integral part of the jewellery industry and brings together the key associations, exhibitors and buyers under one roof. Delhi Jewellery and Gem Fair is north India's largest B2B jewellery fair and one of the major four jewellery shows held annually by UBM India for the Indian gems and jewellery industry.

The three-day trade show brought over 270 exhibitors to connect and create business with jewellery manufacturers, retailers, wholesalers, importers and exporters in North India. The show received over whelming response from neighbouring states of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, further validating the show as an industry platform. Similarly, the event saw participation of exhibitors from as far as south and west India. International visitors from Dubai, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Malaysia were also a part of the fourth edition of Delhi Jewellery & Gem Fair 2015. This year saw over 22,500 pre-registrations, thus reflecting how the industry in the region is growing. As a curtain-raiser, a series of road shows in adjoining cities of Dehradun, Kanpur, Meerut, and Sri Ganganagar also played the feeder role for Delhi.

Eminent exhibitors at the event included jewellery manufacturers of the country namely, Jindal Jewellers, N.D Diamonds, P.C Totuka, Rohtak Chains, Royal Chains, Swarnsarita,  Swarnshilpi, Tatiwalas Gehna, Unique Chain, Mohan Gems and Jewels, Bhindi Jewellers, Chain - N - Chains, Damara, Dhirsons Diamonds, Fine Jewels, Haryana Jewellers, Itan Jewels, Jaipur Ratna, Jewellery Machinery Association, WBIDC amongst others. Delhi Jewellery and Gem Fair 2015 saw some new product launches - exhibitors like Bhindi Jewellers, based in Jhunagarh (Gujarat), launched the art jewellery collection; a single piece in-house antique jewellery with paintings on it. G.M. Jewellers based out of Kolkata launched their temple jewellery collection emphasizing on their exclusively designed collection of bangles. Sterling Ornaments Pvt. Ltd. was another exhibitor this year, who launched Arezzo Kids Collection, kid's jewellery based on Disney cartoon characters, different from the usual Disney collection.

The event also felicitated and recognised budding designers' talents from NIFT. The winners of the Design in Excellence Awards are Kartik Dhuria, NIFT Delhi, Surya Rastogi, NIFT Delhi, Meghna Singh, NIFT Ahmedabad and Manisha Mohaptra, NIFT Delhi. Other highlights of the show included a Fashion show with show stoppers Niyonita Lodh, Miss India Universe, 2014; Diksha Kaushal, Finalist for Miss India 2015; Vartika Singh, Miss India Grand International 2015 and Afreen Rachel Vaz, Miss India Supra National walk the ramp showcasing unique jewellery designs.

As part of Retail Jeweller Guild Awards 2015, a maiden initiative by UBM India, the Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Mr. Ramchand Popley; Young Turk Award to Mr. Mithun Sacheti; Woman of the Industry to Ms. Vaishali Banerjee; Industry Crusader to Mr. Sanjay Kothari; National Brand Presence Award to Tanishq; Best Showroom to Mr. Ramesh Narang for Hazoorilal Legacy, Delhi and Emerging Retailer Award to B. G. Gotewala Jewellers.

The emerging winners at this year's Retail Jewellers Guild Awards are P.N.Gadgil Jewellers Pvt Ltd, Anmol Jewellers, Abaran Timeless Jewellery Pvt Ltd, Khurana Jewellery House, Vummidi Bangaru Jewellers, Mehandi Diamonds Pvt Ltd, Kashi Jewellers, Kirtilal Kalidas Jewellers Pvt Ltd, Mehandi Diamonds Pvt Ltd, H.K. Designs, Reliance Jewels, Kashi Jewellers, Kirtilal Kalidas Jewellers Pvt Ltd, Swansukha Jewellers Pvt ltd, Waman Hari Pethe Sons and Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri Ltd.

In addition, UBM India launched India's Retail Jewellery Companies Publication, a 10-year industry outlook with key insights and trends.
