'Digital Women Awards' to Recognise Women Start-up Stars

MUMBAI: India's top women digital start-up stars will converge at the Digital Women Awards powered by SheThePeople.TV. The award ceremony will be held in Mumbai on the 29th of November 2015.

The awards have been instituted to celebrate the finest women entrepreneurs who risked everything to launch a new enterprise taking advantage of the digital world.

In a first of its kind exercise, the Digital Women Awards saw more than 700 applications. Each application goes through a rigorous evaluation process by a spectacular jury led by TV Mohandas Pai, founding member of Infosys, Chairman of Manipal as well as an active investor in start-ups. "Women are becoming the Prima Donnas of the digital world which is giving free reign to their talent, creativity and vision unrestrained by any context. In this new world they are thriving and taking leadership," said TV Mohandas Pai.

The jury, comprising some of the best and most celebrated in the digital ecosystem, will decide winners for each category. Pai is supported by four successful women leaders Ankhi Das, Public Policy head of Facebook in India, Meenu Handa, Head of Communications at Amazon, Deepali Naair of Mahindra Holidays along with Akila Urankar, President at Business Standard . All these women are also achievers and an example of breaking the glass ceiling and leading their organisations, leading from the front.
