New Event to Promote Madagascar's Extractive Industries

LONDON: Madagascar's Minister for Mines & Petroleum has declared Madagascar is ready to do business with the international community, and is currently in the process of updating the nation's petroleum and mining codes to make them more attractive to international investors.

Speaking at The Energy Exchange's West Indian Ocean Evening on June 1st, His Excellency Joeli Valérien Lalaharisaina, The Minister near the Presidency in charge of Mining and Petroleum said:

"I am now confident that Madagascar is ready and open for business. I have come here to echo the message of our President who has prioritised the extractive industry as the driving force for the continual construction of our beautiful island and invite you to come on this journey with us. 

In partnership with The Energy Exchange, The Ministry near the Presidency in charge of Mining and Petroleum will host the International Forum on Mining and Petroleum Conference & Exhibition in Antananarivo on the 23-25 September. We invite you to come and discover our big island and its rich natural beauty."

The International Forum on Madagascar Mining & Petroleum will be opened by The Ministry near the Presidency of Mining and Petroleum. The forum will address the country's development plan; prepare Madagascar for international investment; and announce updates on the nation's petroleum and mining codes and plans for the next licensing round.
