67th Indian Pharmaceutical Congress 2015 to be Held in Mysuru

MYSURU, India: The 67th Indian Pharmaceutical Congress (IPC) is the most sought after power-packed flagship annual congress and exhibition of the Indian Pharmaceutical Congress Association (IPCA) and is scheduled from the 19th - 21st of December at JSS University, in the beautiful city of Mysuru. The conference has already attracted more than 7000 practicing pharmacists, pharmaceutical scientists, academics, researchers and pharmaceutical industry leaders from all over the country who have registered to participate in the conference. The theme of the conference is 'Pharmacists for a Healthy India - Swasth Bharat' and will dwell into the best possible roles that a pharmacist can play in order to realize the vision of a 'Healthy India-Swasth Bharat'.

IPCA is the federation of five National Pharmaceutical Associations, namely IPA - Indian Pharmaceutical Assocation, IHPA - Indian Hospital Pharmacists Assocation, APTI - Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India, IPGA - Indian Pharmacy Graduates Association, AIDCOC - All India Drug Control Officers Association. The Inaugural Program of the 67th IPC is scheduled on 19th December at 10.30 am at the inaugural pendal at the University campus. In the gracious presence of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Maha Swamiji, the Chancellor of JSS University, Sri Ananth Kumar, the Hon'ble Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers has kindly agreed to be the chief guest and inaugurate the conference and Pharma Expo - 2015. It would be our honour to have him with us at this momentous occasion and it is with immense pleasure we invite him to join us at the inaugural program.

Further, Sri JP Nadda ji the Hon'ble Minister for Health and family welfare, Government of India has kindly agreed to unveil the vision document 'Pharmacist for a Healthy India - Swasth Bharat' on the 20th December, 2015 at 10.30 AM at a special program organized at the conference.

Sri UT Khader, Hon'ble Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka and Sri Parameshwar, Hon'ble Home Minister, Government of Karnataka, Bengaluru have kindly agreed to grace the Valedictory program of the conference at 4.00 PM on 21st December, 2015.

Besides Sri VK Subburaj, IAS Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals, Government of India, Sri KL Sharma, IAS Joint Secretary , Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India,  Sri Sudhanshu Pandey IAS, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, Government of India, and officials from state and central regulatory agencies, US FDA, MHRA, EDQM, USP, BP and Pharmexcil have agreed to participate in the conference and give their valuable inputs in the strengthening of the Pharma Sector of India.

Dr. GN Singh, Drugs Controller General (India), New Delhi, is the President of the congress and Dr. B Suresh, Vice Chancellor, JSS University, Mysuru and Dr. Raghurama Bhandary, Drugs Controller, Government of Karnataka are the Chairman and Co Chairman of the congress respectively. The arrangements for the congress are actively planned and supervised by Sri SP Manjunath, Secretary, JSS Mahavidyapeetha, Dr. H Basavannagowdappa, Dean, Faculty of Medicine, Dr. B Manjunatha, Registrar, and several other faculty and staff of JSS University, Mysuru.

Keeping true to the tradition of enlightening minds through engaging interactions, the three-day event will cover various issues related to the industry, academia and pharmacy practice. To further enrich the intellectual rewards of the congress, a Pharmaceutical Expo - 2015 Exhibition will be held simultaneously, an initiative by Exponext.
