Top CIOs to Share Open Source Success Stories at OSI Days 2014

BENGALURU: Going by the adage that seeing is believing, Open Source India 2014 is bringing some unique practical examples, that will show how companies can contemplate open source technology as a strong business model. With the aim of bridging the gap between industry and the community, Open Source India, fondly known as OSI Days, is taking a step forward by bringing some successful open source implementations done in some of the biggest companies across India.

The 11th edition of the event is scheduled to happen on 7-8 November 2014, at the NIMHANS Convention Centre, Bengaluru. Introduced for the first time, OSI Days 2014 will feature 'IT Implementation Success Stories' track, which will have speakers from coveted names including Rediff.com, BookMyShow.com, Goibibo.com, Justdial, Cleartrip.com, Patterbuzz and Karunya University sharing their success stories of open source technology usage and deployments.

Vikalp Sahni, CTO, Goibibo.com, would be present to talk about how Goibibo platform has evolved and scaled and the various open source tools that he has used. Sahni will also talk about how folks at Goibibo contribute to open source world and embrace tech stack.

Similarly, Amol Majumdar, director-engineering, Rediff.com, will talk about 'Real Time Vulnerability Detection at Rediff'. Speaking about his talk, Majumdar said, "With the advent of smart phones and tablets, internet has got more personal and lot more accessible. The Vulnerability Detection system has been created using many open source solutions along with custom techniques which has helped us scale the system to achieve the true real time promise."
