Barco Introduced 3D Projection at Petrotech 2014

PR Newswire | 17 Jan, 2014
NEW DELHI: From 12 through 15 January, professionals from India's thriving oil and gas industry assembled in the India Exposition Mart in Delhi for the international Petrotech oil and gas conference and exhibition. As a global leader in technology, Barco was there as well. At the Barco booth, visitors indulged in the company's latest innovations, including a 3D video wall, the wireless ClickShare collaboration system, and the F35 AS3D 3D projector. Also during the exhibition, Barco partner Schlumberger-which was a Petrotech crystal sponsor-used the Barco MVL-621 video wall to display its new products.

For its eleventh edition, Petrotech stayed true to its core mission: to acquaint professionals in India's growing oil and gas industry with the latest tools and solutions to overcome the most pressing challenges in the sector. As the third-largest oil consumer in the world, India is highly dependent on the import of crude oil and natural gas. At the same time, many of the country's oil wells are left unexplored, making it a haven for oil and gas professionals and suppliers looking for new opportunities.

"Over the years, Barco's appearance at Petrotech has become a tradition," says Abel Garamhegyi, Managing Director at Barco India. "This year, we are happy to showcase our latest collaboration 3D technology: stereographic cubes which help the oil industry make wiser, more effective, and more cost-effective decisions."

Slick 3D visualization

Technology plays a key role in seizing the industry's opportunities. Barco has therefore developed a range of solutions that help oil and gas professionals work more efficiently. At its Petrotech booth, Barco premiered its 3D video wall solution in India. Proven successful at Brazilian oil giant OGX Petróleo e Gás, Barco's innovative 3D technology can play a large role in facilitating both oil and gas exploration and the management of existing wells. Also, at the Barco booth, visitors experienced firsthand the unique features of the projectiondesign F35 AS3D projector. As the world's highest-resolution 3D single-chip DLP® projector, this piece of cutting-edge technology displays fully uncompressed 3D images with more detail than any projector in its size, price, and performance category, making it a must-have for every control center.

Lubricating the gears of collaboration

Apart from pure visualization, Barco also presented its revolutionary ClickShare presentation tool. Developed specifically to foster collaboration, ClickShare is an intuitive, wireless tool that allows participants in a meeting to easily display their content on a central screen. Operated by a single click of a USB button or mobile app, ClickShare makes meetings more productive and enjoyable, whether they involve the latest quarterly figures or a technical exposition on new drilling opportunities.

Speaking of collaboration: crystal Petrotech sponsor and long-term Barco partner Schlumberger also displayed its own portfolio on Barco's OverView MVL-621 video wall. The leading technology and integrated project management supplier to the global oil and gas industry chose the MVL-621 to make sure it presents its products under the best possible conditions: in full HD, with the highest amount of detail and brightness to highlight every unique feature.
