The New BMW X3 Debuts in India

NOIDA, India: A paragon of sporty dynamics, premium ambience and robust agility, the new BMW X3 was launched today at Deutsche Motoren, the BMW dealership in Noida.

The new BMW X3 is locally produced at the BMW plant in Chennai in a diesel variant and is now available at BMW dealerships across India.

Mr. Philipp von Sahr, President, BMW Group India said, "The new BMW X3 is the embodiment of independence, whether it's on the way to work or on a weekend, with family or for some quality time alone. It is built for both the small and big challenges that each day brings. Its sporting character is revealed in an extremely dynamic driving experience with impressive efficiency and fascinating design that emphasises the athletic character of the new BMW X3."

The new BMW X3 is available for the first time in a new design scheme: the BMW xLine equipment package, which brings out the robust and dynamic Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) character even more prominently.

The all India ex-showroom prices of the new BMW X3 are as follows -

BMW X3 xDrive 20d Expedition: INR 44,90,000

BMW X3 xDrive 20d xLine: INR 49,90,000

Price prevailing at the time of delivery will be applicable. Delivery will be made 'ex-showroom'. Ex-showroom price excludes road tax, RTO statutory taxes/fees, insurance and Octroi (if applicable). Prices/options subject to change without prior notice.

The new BMW X3 is available in Alpine White as non-metallic paintwork and in the following seven metallic paintworks: Black Sapphire, Deep Sea Blue, Glacier Silver, Sparkling Brown, Space Grey, Mineral Silver and Melbourne Red. The standard Nevada leather upholstery is available in Black, Beige, Oyster, Saddle Brown and Mocha colour combinations. Interior trims offered are Fine-wood Trim Burled Walnut with highlight trim finishers Pearl Chrome.

The BMW xLine equipment package features matt aluminium inserts in the bumpers, individual kidney, individual xLine grill, side window design, exhaust pipes in matt aluminium, door sill finishers with 'BMW xLine' designation, sport leather steering wheel, new upholstery colours with lasering/X embossment, new interior trims, two new wheels designs and exclusive 18-inch light-alloy wheels.

The New BMW X3

The new design elements lend the exterior of the new BMW X3 a distinct personality, making it look even more powerful, imposing and elegant. The modified twin circular headlights, a more eye-catching kidney grille, new front and rear bumpers and exterior mirrors with integrated side indicators cut a visually more powerful figure.

The new BMW X3 stands out once again with the best cabin space and luggage capacity in its class while offering exceptional flexibility and a host of functional details. Understated chrome applications, the centre console in high-gloss black-panel look and wood panelling with pearl-effect chrome highlights, round off the redesigned interior. Another attraction is the panorama glass roof, which provides a perfect view of everything the day has in store.

The BMW X3 xDrive 20d is the first model to feature the latest-generation diesel engine with outstanding performance and low fuel consumption. The new generation of all-aluminium 2.0 litre diesel engine with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology uses common rail direct injection with solenoid valve injectors and works with increased injection pressure. This pushes the engine output to 140 kW/190 hp with the maximum torque of 400 Nm. The increase in performance cuts the vehicle's 0 to 100 km/h acceleration to just 8.1 seconds with a top speed of 210 km/h.

The eight-speed automatic transmission with Cruise Control provides higher shifting and driving comfort through finely tuned gearing and seamless gear changes. At any time, in any gear, the transmission collaborates perfectly with the engine, enabling it to develop its full power and efficiency.

Driving experience control switch fitted as standard in the new BMW X3 lets the driver choose between different driving modes to suit the driving conditions (ECO PRO, Comfort and Sport). In the ECO PRO mode, all the on-board systems are set to maximum efficiency to dramatically minimise fuel consumption and CO2 emissions while the Sport mode enables greater driving pleasure.

The intelligent four-wheel BMW xDrive system adapts perfectly to even the most challenging road conditions, ensuring outstanding traction at all times. With xDrive and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), the vehicle remains directionally stable and distributes drive power flexibly between the two axles for optimum grip and safety.

The new BMW X3 offers a wide spectrum of cutting-edge safety systems such as air bags, BMW restraint system, passenger cell system with defined deformation zones, impact absorbing front and rear bumpers and Run-Flat tyres.

With BMW EfficientDynamics, the new BMW X3 is equipped with the most comprehensive technology packages to reduce fuel consumption and increase performance such as intelligent lightweight construction, auto start-stop, ECO PRO mode, brake-energy regeneration, 50:50 weight distribution and many other innovative technologies.

The outstanding new features from BMWConnectedDrive on board the new BMW X3 include the latest generation BMW iDrive (the on-board Driver Information System), connectivity through Bluetooth and USB devices and radio BMW professional. Park Distance Control (PDC) comes as a standard feature.
