MSys Technologies Announces Acquisition of Clogeny Technologies

PR Newswire | 16 Apr, 2014
CHENNAI, India: MSys Technologies, a Georgia, US-based company that provides technology and product engineering services in storage, cloud computing, embedded systems, telecommunications, quality assurance, test automation, and technical support, has announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Clogeny Technologies, based in Pune, specializing in storage, big data, cloud computing, and DevOps. This acquisition will position MSys Technologies at the helm of the technology service industry in its niche domains.

"Clogeny's expertise and capabilities captured our attention. When we thought about how it will enable us to support a broader software ISV ecosystem and provide a deeper level of services to our current customers, it was easy to come to this decision. Through Clogeny we will also get a set of strong, talented engineers in Pune, India, which is the hub for file system, cloud, and storage management technologies," said Sanjay Sehgal, CEO, MSys Technologies

Although Clogeny will become a financial subsidiary of MSys, it will continue to operate from Pune without any changes to its organizational structure. Both the companies will work closely to share expertise and combined value to their existing and future customers.

MSys Technologies

MSys was founded in 2007 in Chennai, India by CEO, Sanjay Sehgal. After gradually progressing through technology projects for several clients, mostly from the United States, the company established two additional locations: one in Johns Creek, Georgia and the second one in Bangalore, India.

MSys has close to 300 employees with exceptional technical expertise in all the industry verticals they serve. With several directors of engineering, senior managers, and technology managers, the company has a proven delivery team most suited for undertaking high-level technical projects. Since its inception in 2007, MSys has shown remarkable financial growth. MSys has had several clients from both the United States and Europe. The decision to acquire Clogeny came up as part of an expansion plan for MSys through which it could serve a larger client base with varied requirements.

Clogeny Technologies

Clogeny Technologies was established in 2009 as a private company headquartered in Pune, Maharashtra, India. The company was established by CEO, Kalpak Shah, and CTO, Chirag Jog. Clogeny is an outsourced product development and software services company with expertise in DevOps, storage, cloud computing and Big Data. Since its inception, Clogeny has served 35+ customers and has created a differentiated set of offerings in cloud, storage, and DevOps domains.

"We at Clogeny have always put our customers first. When the idea of this merger came to us, we asked ourselves how our customers will benefit from this, and we knew that MSys's scale and broader expertise would be paramount in providing value to not only new customers but also our existing ones," said Kalpak Shah, CEO, Clogeny Technologies.

Details of the Acquisition

According to the terms of the acquisition, Clogeny Technologies Pvt. Ltd. will function as a fully-owned subsidiary of MSys Tech India Pvt. Ltd., and its US counterpart. Hence, in the future, new client engagements will be initiated under the name of MSys. Clogeny's CEO, Kalpak Shah, besides heading Clogeny, will be named the CTO of MSys Technologies, and Chirag Jog will be named VP of Cloud Business Unit.
