Citec Awarded Frame Agreements With Fortum in Sweden, Finland

NAVI MUMBAI, India: Citec has recently been awarded frame agreements with Fortum in Sweden and with Fortum in Finland. Fortum is a top priority customer for the energy and civil industry area. The agreements are an important step in the ambition to work directly towards utilities, in accordance with the company strategy.

As a part of their growth plan, Citec took up a new strategy of becoming an EPCM contractor, the term meaning management of engineering, procurement and construction, which means besides the engineering, Citec will also take responsibility for procurement and project management. "As we look forward to providing services directly to investors and energy producers, the frame agreement with Fortum is the kickstart we needed," says Mr Nasir Mulani, Managing Director, Citec India.

Fortum Oy is a Finnish electric utilities company, providing a full range of energy-related products and services. The company's activities cover the generation, distribution, and sale of electricity and heat and steam, as well as the operation of power plants, and energy-related services.

Typical assignments within this agreement are projects that are part of Fortums' investment program where the suppliers usually run part(s) (feasibility study, environmental impact assessment, pre-engineering, project services, engineering) of the investment project. Citec shall be able to manage and be responsible for the assignment in terms of budget, time frames and deliverables.
