Significant Majority Avail Coupons to Shop Online, Reports a Survey by Cuponation.in

NEW DELHI: With shopping online becoming the hottest trend these days, cuponation.in [https://www.cuponation.in ], the market leader that offers coupons and vouchers from leading online retailers, has garnered a significant number of takers for availing coupons to save money while shopping online. As per a recent survey conducted by the online portal, while 75% people were found to shop online, 5 out of 6 respondents in India admitted to using coupons while shopping. Interestingly, a majority of these shoppers are women in the age bracket of 20-35 years. The survey was taken by 2300 users across the globe out of which there were 600 Indians, 900 Brazilians, 200 French and 600 Italians. The survey was conducted mainly by contacting bloggers through emails.

It was pointed out in the survey that out of the total of 500 respondents from India, 76% of the total respondents log onto the World Wide Web on an average of 3 times or more in a month to shop online which is comparatively coherent with the international trend of 76%. This big influx of traffic for the online shopping portals is due to the emergence and popularity of online stores such as Flipkart, Myntra, Jabong, Tradus, Dominos, Bookmyshow and several others that have been working hard to change and revolutionize online shopping in India. With Flipkart introducing the concept of wallets on their website, they have managed to make online shopping much safer and bring in the trust factor that a lot of people feel may lack in online shopping in India. Apart from the trust factor, with online stores focusing on providing better services such as cash on delivery, they have also managed to overcome the reliability factor for online shopping.

Another major contributor for the rise of curtains for online shopping in India is the concept of online coupons. With market leaders such as Cuponation providing several online coupons for various popular categories such as electronics, fashion & beauty and entertainment, the incentive to shop online is even greater. Imagine a world of shopping while saving money and without having to physically walk through the scorching heat and avoiding getting clustered in traffic. Thus, Cuponation has managed to deliver a very pleasurable experience to the web surfers. According to the survey, 5 out of every 6 respondents in India admitted to using coupons. Approximately 85% use coupons to make use of discounts in India as compared to 78 % globally.

Out of the total respondents, 77% of the respondents have admitted to using websites such as Cuponation.in to avail coupons for online shopping. Except for a few deviations, the majority of the shoppers are in between the age group of 20-35 years. "This is due to the fact that most people in India have achieved financial independence by then and earn their own money which they can splurge and what better way to spend the money than to spend it to shop stuff online," stated Mr. Sahil Shah, Co-founder & MD, Cuponation.in.

Another interesting fact that was revealed in this survey was that amongst the total number of respondents globally who have admitted to shopping online and having used coupons to get discounts, 70% of them were women which was the case for India as well.

Furthermore, the majority chunk of search traffic for coupons and discounts comes from search engines, social media sites and blogs such as Google, Facebook and Twitter which play an important role in popularizing coupons and online marketing. E-mail marketing done by these companies also update the subscribers with the new deals and discounts that keeps them up to date.

Mr. Shah added, "So all-in-all, the online shopping scene and the concept of using coupons in India looks very promising as compared to the advanced markets for online marketing such as USA, Germany and Brazil. This is very evident with the arrival of one of the market leaders 'Amazon' in India. It's only a matter of time for India to be considered in the front league in the field of online shopping."
