Double Rupture Disc Assembly Prevents Environmental Pollution

PR Newswire | 29 Jan, 2013
Double Rupture Disc Assembly Prevents Environmental Contamination MUMBAI: Pressure-safety specialist Elfab has further developed its existing pressure-relief assembly range, adding a design specifically to prevent environmental contamination in severe process conditions.

The Double-Disc Assembly comprises primary and secondary bursting discs that are both reverse-acting, both forward-acting or now a combination of the two, plus a pressure gauge or switch to monitor the space between the discs. The new design opens Elfab's product range up to a wider mix of customers and process specifications, particularly in the oil and gas, and chemical, industries.

The Double-Disc Assembly aims to help the increasing number of companies facing the pressures of zero emissions and other environmental concerns. In the event of chemical attack causing pinholing of the primary disc, the secondary disc prevents pollution of the environment, while the intermediate pressure sensor alerts process managers and maintenance teams to the need to replace the disc that has operated.

Elfab's Double-Disc Assembly is available in a number of materials to suit customer requirements, from stainless steel to Hastelloy and Duplex.
