Altran Announces Mentoring Programme on Visit of French President

NEW DELHI, BANGALORE and PARIS: On the occasion of French President François Hollande's visit to India, IIM Bangalore and HEC Paris School of Management have announced their partnering with Altran, a global high-tech engineering consulting firm, and launching of the "HEC Paris - IIM Bangalore - ALTRAN Professional Monitoring Scheme".

Altran, global leader in innovation and high-tech engineering consulting, provides services to key players in the aerospace, automotive, energy, railways, finance, healthcare and telecom sectors. Based in 20 countries, with the group's worldwide headquarters located in Paris, Altran has Bangalore-based operational offices and headquarter for Altran India, with two main delivery centres in mechanical engineering and intelligent systems. It plans to expand its Indian operations in 2013 both with organic growth and acquisitions in line with the strategy of the Altran Group to become a main actor in Asia.

Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) is a premier institute engaged in teaching, research, consultancy and training. While, HEC Paris School of Management is a leading business school in France and in Europe. The two schools have developed a strategic partnership since 2005. In 2013, IIM Bangalore and HEC Paris look forward to strengthening the cooperation by connecting Bangalore and Paris with international companies especially in the high-tech sector.

The "Professional Mentoring Scheme" is aiming at providing the opportunity to graduates of the two business schools - especially those with an engineering background and/or interest for the management of innovation - to work closely with managers of the high-tech sector.

The "Professional Mentoring Scheme" will focus on students participating in the IIM Bangalore-HEC Paris student exchange program, and includes three activities:

- Live Projects: the students of the two schools will participate in business projects defined by Altran during their studies in Bangalore and in Paris.

- Site visits: the students will participate in site visits to learn about the operations of the company in India and in Europe, as well as to discuss career opportunities in the innovation and high-tech sector.

- Matching Program: students and young graduates will be matched with senior manager to advise them in terms of career prospects.

The agreement between HEC Paris, IIM Bangalore and Altran has been signed in Delhi, on February 14th, in presence of Mrs. Geneviève Fioraso, French Minister of Higher Education and Research and Shri Sudini Jaipal Reddy, Indian Minister of Science and Technology and Minister of Earth Sciences.

Commenting on the partnership, the Altran India CEO, Mr. Sanjay Kumar, said, "Altran India would continue to invest in helping develop technical and managerial skills of key personnel in India and this partnership is therefore an exciting opportunity and we are excited to be a part of this."
