Mortein's 'Machhar Sonepur Chhodo' Campaign a Huge Success

PATNA, India: In a massive awareness drive which began last month, Mortein, the pest control expert brand successfully implemented the 'Machhar Sonepur Chhodo' campaign at the Sonepur Mela. The awareness campaign, which aimed at educating 25 villages in Sonepur concluded with a felicitation ceremony of the Sarpanch from top 3 villages that participated in the pledge campaign. The event was graced by the presence of Shri Rahul, SDM, Sonepur and Shri Ashok Choudhary, DSP, Sonepur who also flagged off a fumigation drive.

Through the month long awareness drive, Mortein reached out to 25 villages across 35000 households covering over 1.7 lakh residents in and around Sonepur. As a part of the pledge campaign, 30 villages around Sonepur were invited to register and take a pledge to take necessary measures for keeping their environment mosquito free. The leading villages- Bishunpur Basant urf Suhai, Sadullahpur Satan and Kashipur Chak Bibi were awarded.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Rahul, SDM, Sonepur said, "The increasing cases of dengue and malaria is a cause of concern to everyone. We thank Mortein for choosing Sonepur to conduct this campaign. We all should promise to ourselves to make Bihar a mosquito-free state."

As a part of this campaign, Mortein collaborated with village Sarpanch and school principals to organise fumigation, informative sessions for school children, local communities and anganwadis, neem tree plantation drive, skits, hoarding and a unique pledge ticker. In addition, at the mela, Mortein organized multiple skits which depicted story of real life heroes from these villages who have contributed towards generating awareness by taking corrective measures to eradicate mosquitoes from their village.
