Automotive Supplier Vari-Form Establishes Strategic Alliances in India and Korea

TROY, Mich.: Vari-Form, the industry leader in hydroforming for automotive structures, continues to expand strategic and tactical relationships in the Asia-Pacific sector. The latest such ventures are with Aura Investment Partners, LLC for India, and with Global Auto Systems Korea, Inc.

"The automotive industries in both India and Korea are experiencing remarkable growth," said
Vari-Form president Stephen Dow. "Like automakers around the globe, Indian and Korean manufacturers are very interested in the hydroforming process for producing structure components."

Citing an in-depth engineering study completed last year, Mr. Dow indicated that Vari-Form's patented hydroforming technologies can achieve significant weight, tooling and cost reductions compared to more conventional technologies. "Vari-Form is better prepared than anyone to assist Indian and Korean OEMs, as well as major global OEMs located there, to incorporate more hydroformed parts into their vehicle designs. Our proprietary process is called Pressure-Sequence Hydroforming, and we are bringing this technology to Asia."

Terry Nardone, head of sales and business development for Vari-Form, points out that the alliances with Aura Investment Partners and Global Auto Systems Korea are important to Vari-Form international expansion. "These alliances are with well-known multinational firms. Their long-standing experience in India and Korea respectively assists us in demonstrating the unique performance and cost advantages of hydroformed assemblies. These are important relationships for Vari-Form, for our OEM and large Tier prospects and current customers in Asia."
