UBM to Kick off its Jewellery Fair in Delhi

PR Newswire | 07 Sep, 2012
NEW DELHI: With the launch edition of its Delhi Jewellery & Gem Fair (DJGF) on September 8-9 in Pragati Maidan, UBM plans to create an excellent platform for jewellers to connect to the hugely important North Indian market. UBM's jewellery & gem trade fairs have gained traction across the southern and western regions of India in Hyderabad, Chennai and Mumbai.

UBM's Group Director Ms. Kranti Nagvekar said, "Our strategy is to reach out to all the corners of India to increase the awareness of our jewellery portfolio within the jewellery trade. UBM is always looking out for new opportunities to serve the traders and Delhi is a huge market and excellent platform to reach the entire northern market. This decision is supported by a recent survey which clearly outlines the industry's need for a B2B fair in North India."

With 400 plus participants and 25000 plus buyers and sellers attending its three shows last year, Gems and Jewellery India International Exhibition (GJIIE), Hyderabad Jewellery, Pearl & Gem Fair (HJF) and its recently launched Mumbai Jewellery & Gem fair (MJGF), DJGF will add new prospects to the business for the Gem & Jewellery Industry right before peak wedding season and festivals.

The fair is organised by UBM India, and is supported by Delhi Jewellers Association, Karol Bagh Jewellers Association, Jaipur Jewellers Association, and jewellers and sarafa associations from all over the region, including: Agra, Ambala, Amritsar, Bareilly, Chandigarh, Gaziabad, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Kanpur, Karnal, Ludhiana, Lucknow, Mathura, Meerut, Mumbai, Panchkula, Patiala, Nawanshahar, Shajahanpur, Shimla, and from the states of Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka among others.

This year's Delhi fair is set to attract buyers from across the Northern region, Pan India and International participants as well. There will be an action-packed knowledge sharing session with seminars presented by GIA, eBay, NYUZ and the Delhi Gemological Laboratories (DGL) on skills necessary for the jewellery trade.

The show is being extensively promoted through a huge visitor promotion campaign across 86 cities. The sales and promotion team is reaching out to the important markets like New Delhi, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarkhand, West Bengal and its adjoining tier 2 and 3 cities. Meetings are taking place on an on-going basis with jewellery trade associations, shop-to-shop visits with retailers to inform the gem and jewellery industry and spread awareness about the new launch and attract the retailers to the show.

DJGF has positioned itself to be the gateway to the North Indian market and provides a platform for buyers and suppliers to meet, exchange ideas, create trends and generate business opportunities. Featuring a 2-day event with a participation of 70+ exhibitors, who will showcase a vast array of gems, studded jewellery, diamonds and many more jewellery-related products, the Delhi Gem & Jewellery Fair will get off to an impressive launch.
