PR Newswire | 23 Mar, 2012
NEW DELHI, India: Convergence India -Latens, (http://www.latens.com) a provider of dynamic security solutions for PayTV across all networks, is pleased to announce that since the start of 2012, agreements have been signed with four key regional operators in the Indian Cable PayTV market. These operators include DDC (Delhi Distribution Co), Faction Digital (P) Ltd, Maury Diginet Pvt and RVR Infrastructures Ltd (RVR).

Of these operators DDC, Faction Digital and Maury Diginet have selected an integrated Latens CAS and Pace STB solution, while RVR has chosen Latens CAS with an Indieon STB.

Carmi Bogot, Latens President, says: "The addition of these key Regional accounts is an indication of Latens' continuing success in securing content and revenues of Tier 1 and 2 operators in India. Latens understands that Indian operators are looking for cost-effective and fast time-to-market CAS solutions that can easily scale and adapt to accommodate the rapid service growth and innovation needed to stay one step ahead in this dynamic, expanding market."

Sunil Nataraj, Latens Regional Director Asia, adds: "Latens software CAS is perfect for Indian cable operators looking for a flexible solution that is quick to deploy. Being software-based, cable operators reduce their costs as there is no need for a smart card. Latens provides a cost-effective solution that can be installed quickly, and scaled effortlessly in line with the requirements of the operator."

Latens developed and launched the world's 1st DVB® compliant software-only CAS eight years ago, since then it has been deployed to operators globally. The card-less technology offers PayTV operators a more dynamic and secure antipiracy solution, reducing operational costs that are incurred with traditional card-based or embedded conditional access solutions. Latens' CAS protects content across all networks - Cable, IP, DTH, DTT - be it one-way, two-way or hybrid from a single headend, making it a future-proof investment for operators expanding their PayTV services across multiple distribution infrastructures.
