Mondia Media Growing Globally and Conquering Emerging Markets

HAMBURG, Germany, MUMBAI, India and JOHANNESBURG: New business in emerging markets and innovative product launches for premium customers - Mondia Media, the digital entertainment provider, is enjoying further success. As well as continuing growth in Europe, the globally active entertainment service provider, is generating new revenue with new services, principally in Africa, India and Latin America.

India is one of the biggest mobile communications markets in the world. Mondia Media has already had its own branch here since 2008 and has been working successfully in this market and others with mobile communications provider, Vodafone. The successful games service developed as part of this cooperation has now been extended by new, innovative business models which are being offered to the more than 150 million customers. Apart from a comprehensive download shop, GamesZone even has a subscription service through which Indian customers can play unlimited mobile games for 5 rupees per day. The Premium Portfolio contains the launch, amongst others, of the world market leaders EA or Glu. Just a few weeks after launch, the service is generating up to 50,000 chargeable downloads per day.

Mondia Media has already been established for many years in another key emerging market with its branch in Johannesburg. Significant successes was achieved predominantly  in the music field, making it possible to gain a further reputable B2B partnership with Samsung. The leading global hardware manufacturer decided to use the Mondia Media Entertainment Universe to offer its mobile telephone customers an innovative music service. The service, which is financed by advertising, can be used by customers from South Africa to Kenya enabling them to enjoy millions of music tracks from the Mondia Media archive using their mobile telephones.

As a result of attractive content services such as music streaming, cloud gaming and new e-book services, together with comprehensive partnerships with providers such as Vodafone, Samsung or Sony Mobile, the Mondia Media Group has already been able to increase its sales in the first nine months of the current business year by more than 50%. Volker Glaeser, COO Mondia Media, comments: "We are seeing impressive growth in the emerging markets, which are becoming a focus of our business activities".

The company is aiming to double its sales in the next 18 months.
