New Pharmatech Event to be Introduced Alongside CPhI and P-MEC Japan

AMSTERDAM: Leading events organiser UBM Live, a division of UBM Plc (LSE: UBM), today announced an addition to the CPhI Japan events line-up that is set to return to the Tokyo Big Sight Exhibition Centre from 21-23 March, 2012. The Pharmatech Japan event, which focuses on drug packaging and delivery technology for the Pharma, biopharma, veterinary and medical industries, will join the Japan Pharma portfolio as a co-located event alongside CPhI Japan for pharmaceutical ingredients and P-MEC Japan for pharma machinery and technology. The three days of events are expected to have over 14,000 attendees with more than 450 global exhibitors.

Pharmatec Japan joins the events line-up to offer a forum that addresses the newest trends and developments in machinery, equipment and solutions for drug packaging and delivery. Together, the CPhI, P-MEC and Pharmatech Japan events offer an unparalleled opportunity to acquire new knowledge about the corresponding sectors within the Japanese Pharma market. Attendees will be able to take advantage of a unique platform to network with new and existing business contacts, including key decision makers for the market.

"More than ever before, drug delivery and packaging is playing a key role in companies' pharmaceutical development strategy. P-MEC Japan and the new Pharmatec Japan offer a comprehensive first-hand view into the Pharma manufacturing business, with a special focus on the newest trends and developments in pharmaceutical machinery, equipment, drug packaging and delivery technology," noted Pharma Portfolio Director, Greg Kerwin. "These events present a unique opportunity, not only because of their focus and size, but also because of their location. Japan is the world's second largest pharmaceutical packaging market within the $47.2 billion world drug packaging industry. This is complemented by forecasts for world demand for pharmaceutical packaging to rise at a rate of 5.5 percent annually through 2015. Our line-up in Tokyo offers unique access to this market and breaks down any initial barriers to making connections within the Japanese Pharma market."(1)

Pharmatech is being introduced in an exhibition format where attendees can discover new products and compare supplier offers while also having access to a complementary programme of educational and networking events. The co-located Japan events will play host to over 120 sessions and workshops that are targeted to the different sectors within the Pharma market. These sessions will be held in the exhibition halls to guarantee a maximum level of convenience.
