M*Modal Inaugurates New Medical Transcription Center at Mysore

MYSORE, India: M*Modal, a leading provider of clinical documentation and Speech Understanding™ solutions, today announced an expansion of its India operations with a new medical transcription center in Mysore. M*Modal plans to grow its presence in the city by creating hundreds of new jobs over the next 24 months in such areas as clinical transcription, quality assurance and other support functions.

Located at Udaya Ravi Road in Kuvempunagar, this state-of-the-art center is spread across 5400 sq. feet.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Dinesh Kumar, Managing Director India, M*Modal said, "The inauguration of our new facility in Mysore demonstrates our strong commitment to this city. We foresee the Mysore center to play a crucial role in our India transcription delivery strategy and we are confident the city's skilled manpower capabilities will facilitate the needs of this trend. Medical transcription is a nascent market in Mysore, and with this new center we hope to develop interest amongst the local talent by providing strong career opportunities - combined with best-in-class training tools - for aspiring candidates who want to make medical transcription a preferred career."

Mr. Kumar further elaborated, "By ensuring continuous investments in terms of training and professional development, the center is poised to become one of the strongest medical transcription centers in India."

Currently, M*Modal employs over 120 people in Mysore and plans to ramp up its headcount to 500 over the next 24 months. During that time, M*Modal will continue to invest in training and development programs to help employees expand their skill-sets and grow as world-class clinical documentation specialists.

Formerly known as CBaySystems, the company unified its medical transcription, advanced speech and language understanding technologies, coding, HIM professional services and analytics under the name, M*Modal Global Services, earlier this year. The company will expand its purview from offering core medical transcription to end-to-end clinical documentation solutions that help caregivers capture the patient's complete clinical story and extract meaningful information used to populate electronic health records (EHRs) and automate the data used to feed business processes such as coding, billing and revenue cycle management. Currently, the company provides technologies and services to 3,800 hospitals and clinics - including some of USA's leading healthcare institutions, 850 physician practices, and 200,000 physicians, as well as leading EHR providers and medical transcription organisations, thereby catering to the $2 billion global outsourced clinical documentation market.

M*Modal's India transcription delivery operations are currently comprised of 5,400 full-time employees in areas such as clinical documentation, quality assurance, software development and IT network operations. The company operates across 39 global delivery centers, including Mumbai, Mysore, Pune, Coimbatore, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, and Nagpur, which are essential to its global operations.
