IACC Honors Aegis as the Best Indian Co. in USA in Technology

PR Newswire | 12 Jul, 2011

DALLAS and MUMBAI, India: Aegis Limited, a leading outsourcing services provider and part of the Essar group, announced today that the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC), the only bi-lateral chamber of commerce, has honored Aegis Limited as the Best Indian Company in the United States in Technology. This recognition was bestowed upon Aegis at the 7th Indo-American Corporate Excellence Awards held in Mumbai, India as a commemoration of the American Independence Day.

Aegis currently employs more than 4,000 people across 9 centers in the US, serving many of the Fortune 500 companies across North America in Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, Telecom, Healthcare, Technology, Travel and Hospitality, and Utilities. Aegis is pioneering the next generation of outsourcing by aligning its strategy of providing end-user customer experience to its clients through enhanced on-shore presence.

Aparup Sengupta, Global CEO and Managing Director of Aegis, said, "We feel privileged to receive the prestigious award from the IACC. This award is a testament to our belief to be the Experience Managers, providing the right balance between cultural affinity, best practices and optimum costs. In North America, we started small as a team of less than 700 people. Today, in the last five years, this team has grown to more than 4,000 with centers operating in 9 locations across North America. We are proud of Aegisites in the Americas who not only power the consumer interactions for some of the largest firms, but also further the Aegis cause in local communities and to the environment. Recognitions like these spur us to achieve greater heights. I humbly accept this award on behalf of 55,000 employees across the world."

Through the I-ACE Awards, the Chamber celebrates corporate excellence and recognizes the Best US companies in India and Indian companies in the US. These awards were presented in a number of categories, and the winners chosen from a pool of varied nominations received from US and India.

Added Dr. L. S. Kanodia, Chairman of the I-ACE Awards, "Both India and the US play significant roles in today's global arena. In this regard, IACC has played a fundamental role to promote and strengthen Indo-US trade and business relationships for over 40 years. Through continued trade and investment between businesses and entrepreneurs, and through improved collaboration and coordination between our governments, we will address many common challenges and achieve shared goals, ultimately leading to improved economic well-being for the citizens of both countries."

IACC expects trade between India and the US to grow to $100 billion within two to three years, while Indian companies are strengthening their presence in the US across various sectors and that the trade volumes would increase due to the growth of several sectors like food processing, education and infrastructure.
