Vonata Launches First Solution: Connect

PR Newswire | 14 Sep, 2010

IRVINE, Calif.: Vonata today announced the beta launch of their first solution, Connect. The solution aims to remove the headaches consumers encounter when navigating automated voice menus ("Press 1…Press 3…To Repeat Press"), and being placed on hold for an unpredictable amount of time when calling a business.

Connect leverages a familiar search front-end, whereby callers simply type or say what they want without having to know what department or agent their request may be tied to. Callers invoke Connect when visiting a business' website, where 800 numbers would typically appear, or through the business' smart-phone application.

"Unlike solutions from other technology providers, businesses are not required to change carriers or enterprise technology, and have the ability to deploy the solution under their own brand," said Farsheed Atef, Vonata's co-founder and chief technology officer. "These critical distinctions, and the fact that Vonata is not disintermediating the business and consumer relationship are key to scaling adoption."

From the consumer's point of view, the experience is simple, effective and delightful. By addressing both the consumer and the business, Connect provides a unique approach to addressing this opportunity.

"Even today, the amount of business transacted through voice dwarfs other options," said Shervin Talieh, Vonata's co-founder and chief executive officer. "Every time we pick up the phone to inquire about a product or service, even with government agencies, or to seek out service or support for something we have already purchased, we mentally prepare ourselves for a long, headache filled, unpredictable experience. From a businesses point of view, the process is not that much better. The costs associated with supporting 800 numbers, old-school call center technology and large number of agents has not improved, while customer satisfaction numbers have steadily tanked."

By introducing Connect, Vonata establishes their first solution running on the company's cloud-based platform. Vonata plans on releasing an API so that developers and 3rd party vendors can also leverage the platform's leading abilities to push data in an orchestrated manner and create innovative customer facing voice experiences.
