UniversalBusinessListing.org opens Europe Head Quarters

PR Newswire | 08 Sep, 2010
CHARLOTTE, N.C., and LONDON: UniversalBusinessListing.org (www.ubl.org), provider of business identity management, search engine submission and directory submission services, today announced it has extended its operations to Europe with the opening of its European headquarters in the Netherlands and the launch of its business services in the United Kingdom (http://uk.ubl.org/).

UBL Europe will provide businesses and the agencies that represent them with an effective method for managing business listing profiles as they are seen on search engines, social networks, mobile devices and in directory assistance databases. As with its successful US service, the UBL UK site will allow businesses to manage profile data in one place and have it distributed to hundreds of online locations.

"There is a pent up demand in Europe for our services, as the growing number of important publishers in the region are experiencing the same identity management issues we have seen in the United States," said Doyal Bryant, CEO, Name Dynamics, UBL's parent company. "Furthermore, the rapid rise of social media has created an urgent need for accurate and enhanced local listing content for consumers to be able to find a business and its products and services listed in their social networks. Through our new European operations we are well-positioned to serve this unmet need."

Overcoming the Listings Dilemma:
"The local search ecosystem is incredibly complex, on both sides of the Atlantic," said David Mihm, president and CEO, GetListed.org. "It's fairly common for incorrect or out-of-date business information to appear on a major search engine. I'm pleased to see UBL expand to another market. We plan to offer UBL's service as an option for our UK users immediately."

UBL UK will deliver data, directly or indirectly, to all the major directory publishers and search engines in the United Kingdom, including Google, Yahoo, Bing, Thomson, Yell, D&B and British Telecom.

"Our data will provide these directories with rich enhanced information about businesses, such as descriptions, products, hours of operation and links to videos, photos and social networks," said Robin Allenson, managing director, UBL Europe. "The data is provided free to all valid publishers, with the information coming directly from the businesses that value accurate, detailed distribution of their identity and message."

UBL's European operations are based in Leiden, the Netherlands, with offices in the United Kingdom managed by directory industry veteran Peter Williams.

UBL will be highlighting its UBL UK service at two major directory publishing events next week -- the EADP Annual Congress in Venice, Sept. 15-17 and BIA/Kelsey's DMS '10 conference in Dallas, Sept. 14-16.
