Full Marks for Jedox Palo in the BI Survey 9

PR Newswire | 12 Oct, 2010

FREIBURG, Germany: Palo, the Business Intelligence of the Jedox AG, was analysed in detail for the first time by the BI Survey and was able to claim a top position at the first go in the global list of leading BI-products. With regards to various categories Palo claimed multiple top positions, against 23 examined products. In the Business Benefit Index (BBI), a key factor of the survey that represents the customer value of the products, Palo is placed as the 1st. runner-up. This excellent result proves the high level of customer value, that the users have acknowledged Palo in important categories of the Survey: Quick implementation, High Performance, easy-to-use and a high degree of functionality.

Quick and Easy with high customer value

Palo is the winner of the category, analysing the length of Implementation of BI-Projects.

With an average of 2,2 months for implementation and 95% of the projects being realised before the critical 6 month mark, Palo takes the lead in the list of the shortest implementation timeframes.

Further, Palo is ranked high in performance, one of the main criteria of success for BI Solutions for the past years. Palo already now is ranked as the product with the shortest calculation- and loading - timeframes and the fastest in finishing queries. The High Performance of Palo will be further enhanced by the innovative GPU Technology in the future.

Palo Users highlight the high degree of usability and functionality; users questioned are not missing any major function when working with Palo. Equally, in the so called "Deployment"-rate, where the probability of a further roll out of the software in the company is determined, Palo is rated among the leading Solutions.

Open Source BI gaining ground, globally.

The BI Survey, carried out by the BARC institute of research, is the largest study of the business intelligence market that is provider- independent. The latest edition of the BI survey 9 is based on 2665 questionnaires, answered by users and consultants. The 23 leading BI-products were analysed, amongst them, for the first time, two Open Source Providers: Pentaho and Palo.

Barney Finucane, Lead Author of BI Survey 9, identifies the increasing use of Open Source Products in the Study as one of the key trends in the BI- Market: "More than 100 detailed Questionnaires were filled out by users of Open source products. That counts for an increase of 300% compared to last year. The majority of them being Palo users, for Palo we have received 60 filled out questionnaires from 15 countries."

Kristian Raue CEO of Jedox, is pleased with the result of the Survey: "The participation of the Palo Users and their high ratings for Palo, acknowledge the path we have taken. Open Source Software has long ago established itself on the Bi Market next to proprietary software, and our concept of easy, fast and cost efficient BI- Solutions is a winner for any company. Plus, we offer a sustained concept with professional services, such as support and consulting, for companies who wish to realize large and sophisticated BI Applications with our mix of the Commercial Open Source BI Solutions."
