PITTSBURGH: Universal Electric Corp. (UEC) announced plans to open an office in Asia, continuing its international expansion initiatives and a commitment to offer its signature STARLINE customizable power distribution solutions to businesses and facilities around the world.

With STARLINE product installations now in more than 30 countries, Canonsburg PA-based UEC has increased its staff/employees by more than 14% since January and sees its rapid growth continuing though the end of 2010.

According to David Skeans, UEC International Sales Manager, the STARLINE entry in Asia comes on the heels of the success of the recently opened European office.

"The tremendous success of our international expansion plan has resulted in a growing demand for STARLINE solutions," said Mr. Skeans. "Our STARLINE Track Busway product line has been extremely well-received by the European market, we are ready for, and enthusiastic about the growing opportunities in Asia." Mr. Skeans added that he expects the Asia office should be up and running by the end of this summer.
