PR Newswire | 17 Jul, 2010

DALLAS: AT&T has been awarded three retail carrier excellence awards for Data Value Enterprise, Overall Data Quality, and Overall Voice Quality in the ILEC/IXC Group by ATLANTIC-ACM at a ceremony held at the Yale Club of New York.

In addition to its three awards, AT&T was highlighted in the report as the top-scoring carrier in multiple product categories, from Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) Frame Quality and Price, to VoIP Quality, Web Hosting Quality and Price. AT&T placed in the top three for quality of all companies for 13 of 16 individual product categories.

The awards are based on the results of the fifth annual ATLANTIC-ACM Business Wireline and Wireless Report Card. The report rates the performance of business connectivity providers based on more than 5,000 individual carrier evaluations from the carriers' small, medium and large/enterprise business customers. The report is an industry-wide, survey-based study that enables small- and medium-sized business and enterprise customers to provide feedback on multiple carriers in a variety of service and product categories, and to evaluate carriers' operations.

"AT&T continues to build on its previous successes in our annual report cards and is maintaining its position as a premier brand with an impressive strength and depth of product offerings," said Judy Reed Smith, CEO, ATLANTIC-ACM. "There is no truer mark of a consistently high performer than customer satisfaction, making the results of this report all the more important for carriers such as AT&T."

The Business Wireline and Wireless Report Card features business/enterprise customer ratings of carrier performance over multiple service and operational categories from the past 12 months of service. The resulting data provides carriers with an overview of strengths and weaknesses from the customers' perspective and allows them to directly compare their own performance to that of competitors. In addition, the analysis enables business class customers to make informed choices when selecting carriers.

The awards are based on the average score each carrier received for each operation and service/product category. Carrier excellence awards were divided between incumbent/interexchange carriers (ILEC/IXC) and competitive local exchange carrier/cable provider/fiber provider (CLEC/Cable/Fiber).
