The fortnight-long 30th Surajkund International Crafts Mela concluded on Monday at Surajkund in Haryana's Faridabad district near Delhi. The fair was visited by over 15 lakh people.

Besides several states, this year 23 countries participated in the fair, which started on February 1.

Haryana Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki, who presided over the concluding function of the Mela at Surajkund, said the fair has given a distinct identity to Haryana at the international level.

Solanki said the Mela promotes the cultural heritage of Haryana by providing a platform to hundreds of domestic and international artisans and artistes.

Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari of theme state Telangana announced that a similar Mela would soon be organised in his state.

Haryana Tourism minister Ram Bilas Sharma said the Mela recorded a footfall of more than 15 lakh.
