State-run gas utility GAIL India on Wednesday reported a 30.53 percent declined in net profit at Rs.3,039 crore for the 2014-15 over Rs.4,375 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.

Income from operations during the fiscal under review fell by 1.18 percent at Rs.56,569 crore against Rs.57,245 crore in 2013-14.

The gross margin during 2014-15 decreased by 26.87 percent at Rs.5,557 crore over Rs.7,599 crore in 2013-14.

The company also reported a decline of 33.97 percent in its consolidated net profit after taxes, minority interest and share of profit of associates and stood at Rs.3,160.05 crore from Rs.4,786.22 crore for the year ended March 31, 2014.

The total income too decreased. It fell by 2.01 percent from Rs.62,836.52 crore to Rs.61,567.38 crore for the year ended March 31, 2015.

On the quarterly basis the company's net profit receded by 47.45 percent and stood at Rs.510.75 crore as compared to Rs.972.03 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2014.

The total income decreased by 2.99 percent from Rs.14,977.89 crore to Rs.14,529.95 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2015.
