Automobile major Tata Motors Monday reported an 11 percent growth in its overall sales, including exports, during February at 44,225 units from 39,951 units in the like period of last year.

According to the company, domestic sales in the period under review grew by 14 percent at 40,314 units from 35,315 units sold in February 2014.

The company's passenger vehicles sales increased by 22 percent at 13,767 units from 11,325 units off-take during the like period of 2014.

"The trend of growth in passenger vehicles continued - with the strong Zest sales and the good response to the all-new Bolt," the company said in a statement.

The company's passenger cars sales in February 2015 rose 31 percent at 11,805 units. However, the utility vehicle (UV) sales declined by 15 percent in the month under review and stood at 1,962 units.

The company's commercial vehicles sales in period under review was up 11 percent at 26,547 units.

However, exports were lower by 16 percent at 3,911 units sold aboard from 4,636 units shipped-out during February 2014.

On the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the company's scrip was down 1.63 percent at Rs.584 per equity share (3.25 p.m.) from its previous close of Rs.593.65 per equity share.
