Auto component major, Bosch Power Tools India Tuesday unveiled a range of portable washers for cars and new age homes.

"Our new range of washers in the do-it-yourself category makes cleaning homes and cars easier as they are efficient, user-friendly and save time and space," Bosch vice president Vijay Pandey told reporters at a preview of the products in Bangalore.

With urbanisation growing at 35 percent annually, do-it-yourself products have been on demand as they can be used to clean mud, debris and rain gutters.

"Our aim is to reach every household and car owner as the washers are ideal to clean floors, patios and help remove stubborn dirt even in corners, making cleaning a less cumbersome exercise," Pandey said.

As the market potential for such products is estimated at Rs.100 crore, with an annual compounded growth rate of 20 percent, the company plans to roll out the products through retail outlets across cities where self-reliance and lifestyle changes have become a norm.

Priced from Rs.10,500 to Rs.18,000, the easy-to-use and lightweight products will be available in five models, which have been designed to customers across segments, including homemakers, youth and hobbyists.

The two decades-old subsidiary of the German Bosch group, the company plans to make more user-friendly products in the do-it-yourself category.

Bollywood actor Prachi Desai, who launched the washer range, said the do-it-yourself innovative products were becoming a trend in the Indian consumer market.

The Rs.8,400-crore Bosch India group is a leading supplier of technology and services spanning automotive, industrial products, consumer goods and building materials.
