Engineering major Larsen and Toubro (L&T) Wednesday said it has managed to bag five orders in various segments like construction, infrastructure and electricity worth Rs.2,700 crore (over $500 million).

L&T said in a regulatory filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) that its building and factories segment has bagged orders worth Rs.1,109 crore for construction of a residential complex, consisting of 23 towers of up to 29 floors.

According to the filing, the company's building and factories segment also bagged an order for construction of a warehouse facility.

The company bagged major orders in power transmission and distribution segment worth Rs.763 crore.

"In addition, the company has secured orders valued at Rs.200 crore on the international front from Tatweer Petroleum, Bahrain, for electrical projects, including additional contracts from other clients for ongoing projects," the company said.

In the infrastructure sector, the company said it bagged an order worth Rs.353 crore for construction of a viaduct, including two-station buildings, for Kolkata Metro.

"The other order secured through Rail Vikas Nigam Limited pertains to the construction of a viaduct and related work for Kolkata Metro," it said.

The company also managed to bag an order worth Rs.272 crore for rehabilitation and automation of the existing 116 million gallons per day water treatment plant of Delhi Jal Board.
