Indian hospitality giant OYO has stepped in to offer support in the fight against the outbreak of novel Coronaviurs (COVID-19).

In the US, the company is offering free stay to doctors, nurses and other medical first responders who are helping in the fight against Coronavirus.

Lauding this move, Ivanka Trump, the advisor to her father President Donald Trump, tweeted, "OYO Hotels are offering free stays to our amazing medical professionals and first responders fighting this virus on the frontlines. These kinds of impactful acts of benevolence are what help keep this Nation and our world #TogetherApart."

In India, the hospitality firm is in talks with the state governments as to how it can do its bit through its network of hotels.

"We have made an earnest outreach to health departments of all state governments to understand how we can leverage our network of hotels for providing pay per use or self-quarantine facilities for travellers (as advised by any state/central govt authority) at a reasonable and affordable price," the company said in a statement.

OYO also said that it is setting up a central helpline number to ensure that it is taking requests from people as well as all state governments and relevant authorities.

"Our outreach is also to the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare as well as to WHO for discussion over initiatives that OYO can quickly implement for the benefit of travellers and those looking for self-quarantine/isolation facilities," the statement said further.
