The Gujarat government will be coming up with an Android application for students to register themselves in employment exchanges, an official said.

The state Labour and Employment Department will also be signing 130 MoUs with various industries for skill upgrade.

"Until now the students had to spend a day at an employment exchange office to register themselves with it. We are shortly going to come up with an Android application through which the entire registration process will be carried out," said Additional Chief Secretary Vipul Mitra.

"The students will be able to upload their CVs and documents. They can also search job opportunities. It will be a challenging task where we want to bring both the employer and the job aspirant on the same platform," said Mitra.

"We will also be signing 130 MoUs with various industries for skill development," Mitra said. These industries will set up skill development facilities in various ITIs" added Mitra.

"We will also be providing soft skills to the students where basic English speaking skills, etiquette and confidence building will be taught to the students so that they are ready for a job," he said.

"We are also shortly going to train our employment officers to act as counselling experts," added Mitra.
