IT major Wipro on Tuesday unveiled three Artificial Intelligence (AI)
starter solutions using Intel Xeon chip to help global energy, utilities
and healthcare enterprises adopt the new software.
"We will
leverage Intel's AI technology to maximise performance of our AI
solutions when running on its Xeon scalable processors," said the
city-based software behemoth.
The software is 'Pipe Sleuth', an
automated anomaly detection solution, designed to eliminate manual
review and coding of video scans of utilities pipeline infrastructure.
'Surface
Crack Detection' is software which uses AI to detect and label cracks
in infrastructure like buildings, roads, pavement, and bridges.
'Medical
Imaging' software, which uses AI to identify regions of interest and
label abnormalities in medical X-Rays and CT scans.
"The
solutions are designed as per customer's needs and integrated into their
technology environment, thereby accelerating time-to-market and
reduction in research and development (R&D) costs," said the
statement.
US-based DC Water firm's IT vice-president Tom
Kuczynski said his company was using Pipe Sleuth to inspect its sewer
network in the District of Columbia (DC).
The company provides retail water and waste water (sewer) services to the eastern district and in its surrounding areas.
"The
Wipro software is a solution that increases inspection productivity and
reduces costs while improving the overall defect detection rate," said
Kuczynski on the occasion.
Intel's AI products group vice-president Julie Choi said customers would benefit from Xeon processors on their AI journey.
"With
Xeon processors and our toolkit, our solutions will enable customers
take advantage of reduced power consumption and performance
improvement,a said Choi.
