A benchmark index of the equities markets, the 30-scrip BSE Sensitive Index (Sensex), provisionally closed Thursday's trade flat at 36.20 points or 0.14 percent up.

The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) provisionally closed down 2.70 points or 0.03 percent at 7,912.05 points.

The Sensex of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 25,979.68 points, closed at 25,880.38 points, down 36.20 points or 0.14 percent from the previous day's close at 25,844.18 points.

The Sensex touched a high of 26,080.07 points and a low of 25,783.12 points in the intra-day trade.
